Youth and students of the world:

The Young Communists’ League of Cuba calls upon youth and student organizations throughout the world, upon associations and all peoples concerned with justice, as on countless other occasions in the history of humankind, for a struggle for truth: starting today, September 12th, until October 8, 2008, we are creating a new world solidarity movement in order to put an end to the silence surrounding the case of the five Cuban patriots, fighters against terrorism, unjustly imprisoned in the United States for the last ten years.

This case continues being a huge secret for the majority of the American people and part of the world; we, the youth, at this transcendental moment in the history of mankind, must carry out every effort so that the truth may be known more and more, day by day, so that the injustice inflicted on these five men may be redressed, and so that they be immediately released and returned to our Homeland.

Cuban youth appreciates the valour of many young people who, from the widespread corners of the globe, accompany us in our historic battle against the blockade.We also appreciate the solidarity of all those who, regardless of age, gender, beliefs, origins or nationalities, express their admiration and desire to defend our Revolution.We are confident that they will all join together, united in this new movement for justice for the five men who represent the highest values of dignity, altruism, courage and solidarity.
